Rod and Shar's Excellent Vacation

Once upon a time (about two weeks ago) Rod surprised Sharon to celebrate their wedding anniversary. This surprise had been in the works for several weeks. Whenever Sharon asked questions, Rod would tell her they were going to North Dakota around Black Friday.
"What about the kids?" she would ask.
"It's taken care of" he'd reply.

As Thanksgiving grew near Rod's excitment and Sharon's curiosity grew. Rod gave misleading hints. Sharon anticipated their romantic weekend away.

The Hawaii Temple had been re-dedicated after a two year remodel. We felt fortunate to have reservations to attend a session.

Soon Sharon learned that it would be a five day vacation and friends had agreed to watch the kids. Sharon didn't know that her neighbors, parents, brothers, Rod's co-workers and just about everyone was in on the surprise but her.

Jack Harter Helicopter tour of Kauai was one of the fantastic adventures Rod planned.

Late afternoon on Thanksgiving Trevor and Dorothy ran some errands and came back with Sharon's Mom! Rod then mentioned that he'd arranged for Alice to watch the kids. To quote Trevor, "A wife never worries about her kids when they are left in her mom's care"

Oh, and our 5 day trip was really 10 days. We'd leave in less than 12 hours!

Rod gave Sharon a folder on the plane showing the destination. Hawaii. 5 days in Oahu and 5 days in Kauai. Everything had been arranged and it was perfect.

The beach and ocean photos won't be posted online, but I was asked over and over if it was our Honeymoon because I was glowing

Thank you, Rod. Wonderful memories like these will stay with me as we live happily ever after.
