Happy Halloween

Last night we watched children morph into whimsical creatures to trick-or-treat for two designated hours followed by a neighborhood street party. It's a good thing daylight savings allowed an extra hour of sleep this morning.

The local custom for trick-or-treating is for children to tell a joke in exchange for candy. I overheard Rod have this conversation with one of the hundred trick-or-treaters that stopped by our house last night:
"Trick-or-Treat!"
"Do you have a joke for me?"
"What do you call a dinosaur with bananas in his ears?"
"I give up. What?"
"Anything you want...He can't hear you!" (giggle giggle)
"That's a good one. Choose a piece of candy."
"Thank you."
"You're Welcome."

Our Mad Scientist told this joke:
"Why do cemeteries have fences?"
"Because People are dying to get it."

Our Jango Fett told this joke:
"What is a ghost's favorite fruit?"
"Bluuuuue Berries."

Our Candy Princess told this joke:
"What do you call a witch on a beach?"
"A sandwich."

Our Care Bear was not asked for a joke. Instead she was repeatedly told that she was a cute Care Bear to which she replied, "Yep!"

We also had a piglet that stayed home with her dad and squealed for treats.

They all look great! We had the same carebear costume for Sarah but she refused to wear it or wear anything until she had a friend over a couple days before Halloween who wanted to play dress up as princesses, so that is what she wore.
Great jokes!!!

What happened to Rodney Kael's hair? It looks just like mine.

Gavan's costume is amazing. Thanks for telling who he was.

So was our princess as sweet as she looked?

The carebear was so adorable as was the littlest fairy.

The joke tradition is the best.
