Oh, what tourists we were at the Iowa State Fair! Our family decided on a spontanious Satuday visit. I'd found a three hour tour outlined online so we thought we'd give it a quick go. However, like the inhabitants of Gilligan's Island, our three hour tour exploded into an adventure in paradise.
IPPV celebrities abound in the Varried Industries Building. Here Aspen and Clifford pose for the camera.
You should have seen the fish that got away from Gavan! They were between three and seven inches long.. and alive.
Jaiden was in a great mood. She spent her day laughing at everybody and everything.
Valencia liked fair food. Pizza, corndogs, snowcones, and cotton candy! The only way her day would have gotten better is if she could have kept the 4-foot-tall pink pig lawn ornament that fasinated her.
Rodney and Gavan have started to refer to the middle back seat of our minivan as the "snipper seat". Since they can't have the shotgun passanger seat they have started calling "sniper".
Rod liked the Tram pulled by the John Deere Tractors.
Sharon liked the "butter cow building" where she learned that ISU has a Master Gardner Program.
Our family overall favorite was "Little Hands On the Farm" which could be it's own blog post. Maybe I'll add it later.
Feel free to make vacation arrangements to come vist us during the next year's fair!
