Today we ate dinner in our tornado shelter (basement) while sirens warned of the severe storm outside. That is how we welcome summer vacation 2009!
Valencia is thrilled about having her big brothers and sister home all day and finds everything they do delightful. Jaiden is not sure what happened to the normal routine. Aspen wants three months of slumber parties. Rodney has become a "Library Groupie". Gavan has memorized all the Highschool Musical songs. School ended Wednesday and we have already experienced our local cub scout pack meeting, The Porch Stompers fiddle quartet, and Rick the Magician.

When I was growing up the local t.v. station would start the season with a showing of The Wizard of Oz and end it the same way. I was terrified of going to the bathroom in the middle of the night and seeing the witch flying by my bathroom window.
